Earth Wind and Fire

The Promise

Stock Code:  SNAZ608CDX

THE BRAND NEW ALBUM FROM THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FUNK LEGENDS EARTH, WIND & FIRE.

The first new studio album in seven years from Maurice White, Phil Bailey & co. Featuring the 2004 Grammy nominated 'Hold Me' & the hit single 'All In The Way'.

Lead vocals duties, as usual, are shared by two of the finest voices in soul who have both always been an integral part of the group; the rich baritone tones of the group's founder and guiding light Maurice White contrasting most effectively with the highly-distinctive falsetto voice of Phil Bailey.

Whilst adhering to the successful EWF formula of lush orchestral arrangements, inspired horn section, smooth jazz interludes and superlative background vocals, the group has successfully tailored their sound to today's R&B audience.

Featured amongst the album's guest appearances are The Emotions (whose backing vocals graced the group's 1978 hit 'Boogie Wonderland'), contemporary R&B star Angie Stone and some particularly sweet soul sax playing from Gerald Allbright.

The album's 'Hold Me' has been nominated under the 'Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance' category in this year's Grammy Awards, during which the group will be performing an eleven-minute televised set. Other album highlights include Phil Bailey's inspired vocal on 'Betcha' and 'All In The Way', on which Maurice White takes the lead. 'Dirty' and 'Where Do We Go From Here' are two gems originally recorded during from the 1978 'I Am' album sessions which have been enhanced by additional production.
